Exercise Your Way To Confidence In Your Golden Years

Sometimes Living A Happy And Healthy Life Takes A Little Effort

Exercise Your Way To Confidence In Your Golden Years

I have talked many times about the value of eating right and exercising. It always amazed me how so many problems can be solved just by doing those two simple things.

The famed Mayo Clinic has said: Regular exercise helps prevent or manage a wide range of health problems and concerns, including stroke, metabolic syndrome, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, depression, anxiety, many types of cancer, arthritis, and falls. It can also help improve cognitive function and helps lower the risk of death from all causes.  Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier, more relaxed, and less anxious.

A recent poll states that people who exercise more feel better about their appearance. The findings show that those who exercised for 30 minutes every day in the past week, as opposed to those who exercised once, are more confident in general about their appearance.

A study shows that 70 percent of people who exercise at least 30 minutes every day say that they “always feel good” about their physical appearance. About 50 percent of people who do not work out say that they do not feel good about their physical appearance. According to the report, only 14 percent of Americans exercise every day, 23 percent exercise four to six days, 34 percent exercise one to three days, and 29 percent do not exercise at all.

If you already are exercising and eating the right kind of foods then you are already experiencing the impact and you know the value of its effects. If you are not, it’s never too late to start. If you are already in or are approaching your Golden Years and feel that well, changing your lifestyle at this point in your life won’t make any difference, (and there are plenty of you out there) you are dead wrong.

Confidence is important because the way you carry yourself and how confident you appear to others will more likely determine how you will be perceived than most all other aspects of your appearance. People enjoy being in the company of happy, confident people and are naturally attracted to them. Confidence is important because people are unable to achieve the level of happiness and success they desire without it.

No matter how young you feel, how healthy you may be, how well you take care of yourself aging happens to us all. Not being able to do the things you used to do can take its toll on you. You start to get aches and pains you didn’t have before, you might put on weight, wrinkles appear you might droop in spots; all this could affect your self-confidence.

That’s why it is so important to take better care of ourselves in our Golden Years. You’ll never look and feel like you are 20 again no matter how much you try. But if you are 60 and you feel like you are 40, what’s wrong with that?
